The sixth Batesville and Laughery Township Institute convened with Vice President Routt presiding. Teachers discussed history study, corn clubs, bread and butter making contests, and lessons, followed by a Lincoln tribute praising his martyrdom and a memorial plan funded by Congress. Later, Nicholas Peetz, a well respected 65 year old farmer, died by his own hand after a period of mental distress, leaving a wife and three children.

Orpha Bultman beloved daughter of Albert Bultman Sr and wife of RK 1 died Wednesday night at her brother Harry Bultman's home near Osgood after glandular throat troubles. New Postmaster to Be Appointed at Oldenburg

Injured by Falling Tree Bauer Saved by Shoulder Hit

Stricken with paralysis hits Indianapolis motorman

Freight Train Car Breaks and Stoppage Near Town
A westbound freight train passed the three arch bridge Friday evening. Hind trucks on one car broke down causing wheels to fail and the car to detach, halting several cars behind. No cars derailed, the train continued to Indianapolis with the intact portion. Local traffic used a single track due to the disruption.
