Pioneer Expires After Short Illness in Batesville
Frederick Greemann died at his son Henry Greemann’s home on Thursday afternoon after a brief illness. Born in Mella Germany on October 12 1824 he emigrated in 1854 and lived in New Orleans Cincinnati Batesville and Seymour. He served in the 8th Ohio Volunteer Militia and helped establish The Batesville Carving Co later Mainz Brooks firms. He leaves four sons twelve grand children and one great grandchild with a large circle of friends. Funeral services were held at his home and the G M E church with Rev W Nocka officiating. Relatives attended from Quincy Seymour Cincinnati and Indianapolis.

Louis Huber and wife hosted the Pearl Euchre Club where Mrs Fred Bornemeyer and John Schwartz won the first prizes for ladies and gents and Mrs Wmn Wessel with Henry Reese took the booby. Miss Tillie Oswald hosted the M I Euchre Club with first prize to Miss Carrie Tekulve, second to Miss Hertha Bosse, and consolation to Miss Katie Spiegel.

Young Batesville Man Dies After Short Illness
Joseph Straus died Friday December 6 at one o clock after a brief typhoid illness. Born May 25, 1877 in Morris he was 3 years 6 months and 7 days old and spent his life in Batesville area. He married Tillie Galauschke December 6 1889 and lived on the Straits homestead before moving to town where he worked in business. The funeral Monday at St Louis church drew many friends and members of Knights of St John and St Louis Men's Society. Relatives from Cincinnati Indianapolis Milroy attended.

Last Wednesday the marriage of Charles Brockman and Miss Carrie Worstman was announced in the Tribune. Team Goes Wild As Buggy Is Drenched In Batesville Runaway
Last Friday afternoon John Pillie of Osgood drove from Bovard livery toward Batesville when his team bolted near an overhead bridge. A storm front tethered him to the buggy as the horses ran, the buggy top tore, Pillie escaped entangled but unharmed. The Govert motor truck ditched to avoid the melee and Henry Brum helped tow the truck from a ditch.
