Boy suffers severe finger lacerations after pulley accident
A young son of John Collins near New Pennington was brought to town after grabbing a hay carrier rope. The horses pulled the rope into a pulley, tearing nails from fingers and causing severe pain while Drs Gibson and Coomes dressed the wounds.

Clara Bergman Read died Saturday July 27 of consumption at about twenty five. Burial from the Spades Lutheran church Tuesday July 30. Oldest daughter of Mrs. Henry Bruning. She worked in the cloth room at Enterprise Casket Company and lived with Wm. Kammeyer family. Enterprise cloth room staff, about fifteen, attended the funeral with a floral design.
