Laughery Valley Lodge K of P. will hold a public meeting at the Town Hall this Thursday evening in celebration of their 29th anniversary. An program of vocal and instrumental music recitations and short talks has been arranged for and the event is open to all.
William Westerman and wife traveled to Cincinnati on Wednesday. Mrs H W Terry and son Robert left for Cincinnati on Sunday for a several day visit. A daughter was born to Mr and Mrs George Obermeyer of Cincinnati on Saturday March 29. Rev Arthur Gringle of Detroit visited Batesville friends early this week. The Gringle family had influenza after moving to Detroit and Mrs Gringle broke her forearm and wrist in a fall during recovery.
A three day exhibition opens this morning near the farms of Nicholas Volz Henry Brum and Harry Wessel at the southern town edge. Farmers from Ripley Franklin Dearborn and Decatur counties and beyond will view twelve tractors six pulverizers and seven lime spreaders along with limestone crushers and ditching machines. Experts will answer questions as the works demonstrate drainage and efficiency improvements, highlighting modern farming methods and equipment.

The White Sox training in Texas beat the Fort Worth Panthers 4 to 1 in an exhibition game. Joe Benz and Charles Robertson pitched for the Sox, allowing six scattered hits. The team is set to play in Cincinnati this weekend, April 19 and 20, with Batonville fans hoping to see Joe Benz in action.
