Great Big Horn County Fair Opens With Band Clowning And Bucking

The Big Horn County Fair opened Tuesday under favorable conditions with a Lovell military band procession and exhibitions by Company D. Bucking by Fred Titus sparked crowd delight, cowgirls quadrille impressed spectators, and horse races, a 100 yard dash, and half mile events drew strong times and close finishes. Wednesday set attendance records with a parade led by the Lovell band, Manderson’s band adding to the festivities though aircraft flights were postponed due to equipment issues. Thursday’s crowd flocked to the agricultural exhibit seen as the fair’s highlight, with Skyrocket rider, 440 yard dash, mile relay, and tandem motorcycle act drawing steady attention. Coons and McClure tied for high jump at 4 feet 10 inches, with the relay a dead heat.

Parade Outshines Wednesday with Lovell Band Float Shine

Racing results from Ontario Oregon include Farmer Boy second in half mile dash, Bones third. Raygan first in three eighths, Famous second, Joe D third. Loat Bird first in Green trot, Duke McGregor second. Chub first in addle horse race with Chaco and Thursday. The Thursday parade attracted a large crowd, led by the Lovell Military Band and decorated autos. Big Horn County Fair Highlights Inadequate Flight and Strong Exhibits

Attendance was steady and the county fair offered ample exhibits proving Big Horn County’s strength. A monoplane flight failed to lift off due to engine issues, disappointing the crowd though not the fair board. The sham battle by Company D drew praise, while judging results will be reported next week due to late extra space.

Funeral in Cheyenne Details of Jenkins Death

Ed Dunaway undertaker for Basin Furniture Co. returned from Red Bank where he prepared the of Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins burial. Four horse team carried caskets to Moneta. Bodies found after some time. woman mutilated but burial prepared. Ex-governors to be moved to Moneta by auto. Funeral of Mrs. Jenkins to be held in Cheyenne. Neighbors unable to shed light on deaths.

Double tragedy at Red Bank ends in self to self

Sheriff Wickwire reports a double death at Red Bank on Friday night as Ina May Jenkins and Thomas W Jenkins are found shot in their isolated ranch house. Coroner and jury conclude both died by self inflicted pistol shots after a suspected quarrel and possible insanity. Ed Dunaway embalmed the bodies and funeral plans await word from Governor Richarde.

Lumber trust accused of spying and blacklists in 20 states

The Department of Justice files an anti trust suit in Denver alleging a central Chicago bureau, the Lumber Secretaries Bureau of Information, ran a spy network and blacklists to control labor markets across at least twenty states. Defendants include the Colorado and Wyoming Lumber Dealers association and the bureau secretary. The government seeks injunctions to halt espionage and blacklist circulation and to stop funds aiding the bureau.

Market Report Shows Uplift in Cattle Prices at South Omaha

South Omaha reports a week of rising values for cornfed and western range beeves with demand cool for hogs. Beef prices peaked at 7.90 for dry lot cattle, western grassers at 6.50, while hogs fell despite light receipts.
