Basin Gardens residents held a schoolhouse reception for new teacher Miss Dodd last Thursday evening. Patrons and pupils attended a pleasant event with ice cream cake and a watermelon finale. The community looks forward to a splendid school season this winter.

Sheriff B. Fr. Wickwire went to Lowell to pursue thieves active in the area. Godfrey Dry Goods store was broken into and clothing stock stolen, and the pool hall also reported a break in with razors taken.

Creath Delegates to Laramie Methodist Conference

Rev and Mrs A M Creath left for Laramie last Monday to attend the annual Methodist conference as church delegates to the lay gathering. They will be away about one week. Caspar trip noted for Mrs C A Zaring as well as others. Wmleyender went to Cumper as colonizers to the Greeting of the Hastern Star, joined by Mrs Ora Bonners of Vody as a delegate from that place. They returned Thursday after a delightful meeting. W W Mayo delivered at Hime and delivered a new Hugmobile to Joba.

Miss Williams Takes Rest At Thermop Olita

Miss Bessie Williams, a stenographer at Pioneer Bank, travels to Thermopolis for a several day stay after recently recovering from an operation she plans to try waiter work at the springs as she regains health. Special Fair Prizes announced by County Agricultural Agent Allyn H Tedman include $2.50 for best bull calf and $2.60 for best heifer calf under one year in any dairy breed. Prizes paid personally by Mr Tedman after judges declare results.

Pig grows fast under careful feeding and care

A southern sow raised seven piglets at a time while one girl reared a pig by hand with care. The ten month old pig weighed 225 pounds and cost less than five bushels of corn to raise, feeding on kitchen waste alongside corn. The other seven pigs grown by the mother averaged 87 pounds dressed. G W Zonu and wife traveled from Greembull yesterday.
