From advices received Jack Menon was arrested at Hyattsville and held for further orders after desertion from the navy. The Presbyterian ladies will meet with Mrs T. K. Bishop near Thursday afternoon but the tea and bake sale scheduled for that time has been indefinitely postponed.

Death of Judge Parmelee Shakes Northern Wyoming
Judge Carroll H. Parmelee, longtime Fourth Judicial District jurist, was found dead in his Sheridan office from heart trouble. Born 1861 in Ohio, he came to Wyoming in 1886 and served as Buffalo land office register and state superintendent of public instruction before election as judge in 1904 and 1910. Survived by his widow and three children, he was widely respected in the Big Horn Basin.

Bold Robbers at Cowley Strike Equitable Co
Sheriff Wickwire and County Attorney Little were called to Cowley for a burglary at the Cowley Equitable Co store. The theft occurred Saturday or Sunday night with $400 to $500 in merchandise taken, mostly silk goods. The store was locked when Chas Mann, the manager, arrived Monday morning. locks were picked or entry unseen. A description of the stolen property has been broadcast as efforts to capture the robbers continue.

Bids Opened For Paint Rock Canal Construction
F. C. Emerson state engineer of Cheyenne visited and arranged bid advertisements for a canal project on the Manderson lateral of the Paint Rock canal. Initial work will move about 85 000 cubic yards of dirt between McDermott Gulch and No Name Gulch. The full project includes lands on the big flat starting at the mile post on the Hyattville road.
