Last Sunday afternoon Rev Morten Joslin joined Aaron Johnson and Grace Gould in marriage at the bride parents home in this city. Grace Gould is the daughter of Mr and Mrs J V Gould and is described as handsome and accomplished. The groom works for F A Wise and has impressed many with his manly qualities. The newlyweds have begun housekeeping at the Holland house in the north part of town. Friends join The Republican in wishing them a happy married life.

Plea Guilty in Gebo Liquor Case and Weapons Charge

In district court Louis Peterson admitted selling liquor without a license in Gebo and was fined 150 dollars plus costs he cannot yet pay, remaining in jail. Henry Squires of Nowood country pleaded guilty to drawing dangerous weapons, paid a five dollar fine and costs, and was discharged.

Bold Hia Hogs Owner Sells Hogs and Ranch Lease

Bold Hia Hogs owner W. Oeland this week sold his hogs and the ranch lease to J. H. Montgomery and A. E. Pickett. Oeland had built up a leading hog breeding operation in the Basin and plans to continue raising hogs near town with a suitable nearby place.

Mrs. Walter Rusk of Germania was brought to Basin hospital this week with typhoid fever. Dr. Carter reports the patient improving today.

Frazier Captured Near Columbus Montana After Luxus Case

Billy Frazier, once linked to the Luxus case and alleged robber of the Luxus bar, was captured in Columbus Montana by sheriffs after being identified from office descriptions. He rode the same gray horse used to escape Baain, then traveled through Meetectse and Cody country before Montana arrest. He is jailed. ownership of a revolver and a horse were noted. It remains unclear if he will plead guilty or stand trial.

Jury Returns Not Guilty Verdict in Cunduff Case

Evidence presented Friday evening and Saturday morning was conflicting. The jury retired at noon, returned after dinner, and found the defendant not guilty, seemingly giving the defendant the benefit of the doubt.

Contractor Foster began work this week on a six room modern cottage for James J Patten north of Bowman place. When finished the home will be among the finest in the city and add notable improvements to the north side. District Court tries case over heifer killed at paddock ranch

In district court Monday prosecutors accuse R. M. Marquis and Edwin E. Sidebottom of the Pad lock ranch of killing a two year old heifer owned by the Rocky Mountain Cattle Company. George Merrill testified the cattle firm refused settlement and investigations were begun. The jury panel was formed from local residents, with twenty more summoned before trial. The defense says the heifer was mistaken for the defendants own animal and they sought to notify authorities. The case continues with further testimony expected on page six.

Conditions Improve Elsewhere as Tariff Debated

H J Switzer of Indianola Iowa visiting here this week reports southern Iowa crop conditions very poor this season and notes it has hurt general business. He says northern Iowa harvested a good corn crop and that normal conditions will return only after tariff tinkering ends and lawmakers clarify potential legislation.

Hunting Party Near South Fork Tracks Elk for Meat

R H Ahrens Dr G A Harris Josh Ellis of Basin and Dr Smith from Manderson travel in the Ellis automobile near South Fork this week on a hunting trip. A Valley letter says they expect to depart with their pack and return by tomorrow after covering 115 miles in 7 hours on the trail of elk and planning a large cargo of meat.

The Philadelphia Athletics defeated New York yesterday to win the fourth game and secure the American League pennant in the world championship series. Bender dominated the pitching, Baker contributed two wins with strong hitting, and total six game receipts are estimated near $800,000 with about $2,500 per participating player.
