Basin Ladies Collect for Red Cross Campaign

Tag Day in Basin by the Women's Club raised funds for the Red Cross. A civic drive in the business and presidency sections brought in a healthy sum for the war effort. A full report of amounts collected will be published next week. Mr and Mrs Ed Myers and Vernon Verne of Burlington visited Wednesday and Mrs Myers visited relatives in Peoria Nebraska.

Cattle Hogs and Sheep Trade at Kennes City Stock Yards

At Kennes City Stock Yards on November 23 buyers faced a mixed market. Cattle prices fell 10 to 25 cents on most grades with prime steers near top 10.55 and calves to 10.00, while western feeders and Colorado steers drifted lower. Hog prices opened 50 to 10 lower and settled 10 to 20 lower with top hogs around 7.85, and sheep and lambs remained limited but holding firm to high prices for some lots.

Evangelistic meetings planned at Baptist church
