Luncheon of Chamber of Commerce Draws Many Attendees

Regular weekly luncheon at Spurrier cafe drew a large crowd of members and visitors. Committees on Emblem road reported progress and near-future improvements. Manderson representatives spoke on road concerns while rural route discussions followed. Visiting Methodist ministers and local officials attended with brief talks. Members adjourned until next Wednesday.

New Officer Appointed in Basin Wyoming

The town of Basin appoints A W Coons of Grandview as Second Assistant Pound Master to protect residents from estray animals. The official commission, signed by Mayor Frank A Wise and Town Clerk J F Ewers, is dated November 19, 1919.

Masons Attend Powell Joint Communication

Local Masons departed yesterday for Powell to join a joint communication of the Big Horn Basin lodges A F A M. Attendees from the local lodge included Dr. M. H. Smith G. J. Dean Watkins G. G. Manderson to Incorporate to Hold Town Election

The county plans to hold an incorporation election for Manderson to allow the town to obtain needed improvements. Inspectors J A Quinter O H Burritt and J L Mills were appointed to conduct the election. Pending incorporation, the town cannot secure desired improvements.

Death of Olive Edna Taylor in Wyoming

Olive Edna Taylor daughter of Mr and Mrs W L Taylor died at home on the 17th after a typhoid illness. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church conducted by Rev R M Jones. Interment followed in Mount View cemetery. Born April 9 1906 she had endeared herself to many friends since moving to Wyoming and the grief stricken family receives condolences.

Retrial Court Docket List for November December Term

The docket shows listed cases for a restrict court session starting Monday December 8 including Jones vs Reen mer and Hyde vs Alfalfa Milling Co. through December 9. Teachers Association Meet At Lander In November

The annual meeting of the Teachers Association will be held at Lander from November 25 to 28. Leading educators have been secured, and the program will aid those in education. School superintendents teachers and school trustees are urged to attend with special fare rates offered for groups of 250 attendees.

Visiting D. T. Hand and family arrive for two week stay

Hiram Hand and daughter Eli from Indianagelis arrive Saturday for a two week visit with son D. T. Hand. Frank Bailey, a nephew, accompanies them. The elder Hand is 46 and active, praising the climate and country. Mrs Hand served 17 months at the National Soldiers' Home in Virginia.

Basin band delights Rex crowd again in fine concert

The Basin band played at the Rex on Sunday afternoon to a large audience. Director B. C. Hoover can be proud of the musicians he has assembled as the ensemble is praised as the best in Basin's history and comparable to any.

Ments Wanted for Pageant Costumes Needed

The women organizing the pageant seek Indian costumes and parts of costumes. Anyone with suitable attire should come to the farmers' room at the courthouse each afternoon to donate and arrange return. Dyed flannel cloths are also requested for use.

Trouble With The Unions In Greybull Dispute

In Greybull a clash with the carmens union over a suspended worker named Draper led union members to threaten walkouts. Superintendent says Draper will be kept on and reinstated. a business committee later urges Draper’s readmission amid protests of a few members. Patrick Kene is convicted of disloyal remarks with a $50 fine and 30 days in jail. The case highlights union tensions and disciplinary actions within the town.

Cavalry Platoon Returns from Fort McKenzie Home

The Basin cavalry platoon, after two weeks on duty at Fort McKenzie near Sheridan, arrived home on Tuesday. They wore new equipment and looked sharp as they marched to quarters at the old stone schoolhouse. A group picture was taken before the troops disbanded.

Death of Infant Son in Manderson Area

Five year old William Johnson, son of Mr and Mrs George Johnson near Manderson, died yesterday from typhoid fever. Funeral services are today with interment in Mount View cemetery. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved family.

W. A. Lopeland and two men named John and Nate from Gerland were in town last Friday. John departed from the agricultural day for Kansas City where he will attend a tractor school.

Hunters Have Luck On Boulder Trail Hunt

T J Jones Wm Tomer H L Kel ley and Wm C May returned Sunday from Boulder trail on South Fork with Harry Friend of Cody after a week of big game hunting. The party each took a deer and an elk and also killed two mountain sheep one of which was the boat head brought into Cody earlier. Senate refuses to ratify peace treaty ends special session

Washington reports the Senate failed to ratify the peace treaty after three votes, ending the wartime framework and keeping laws like the wartime prohibition act in effect. Remains Taken to Colorado Springs for Interment

The remains of Mrs. Rolla Pagett who died last Thursday were taken to Colorado Springs for interment on Monday. Her sister Mary L. Wolfe came from Colorado Springs to accompany the remains there.
