The Pickering brothers, seasoned architects and builders, announce they will relocate to Grass Creek country town to handle all kinds of contract work including oil derricks pump houses mill work and potentially a brick plant. They aim to open a factory, pursue sash and doors, and inspect a new oil territory while completing Torchlight property and Greybull Shipping Hogs projects. Nearby farmers ship hogs to Nebraska and Omaha as hog quality and market prospects rise.

Turkeys Shipped by Ray Nicholson in Burlington County

Ray Nicholson, a prominent farmer of Burlington County, brought a load of turkeys to town last Tuesday for shipping to outside points. He plans a larger turkey operation next year and notes a strong grain and sweet clover crop, plus canning of fruits and vegetables for sale. Arthur Gearhart assumes charge of the Council Case this week, promising regular meals and short orders, and seeks patronage.

County Agent Tedman distributed a Farmers' Exchange list to over 800 residents. It lists sale or trade items with article name price owner's name and address, including horses cattle hogs poultry and various miscellany. The program aims to reach every person in the county and features advertising on the front page to attract readers.

Chase-Lister Co to Bring Top Ring Tonight

Glen F Chase reports the Chase Lister company will present one of their best troupes tonight with Kentucky Sue as the opening number. The troupe has performed in Basin before and is expected to draw a large crowd. Tommy Massey of Greybull Valley, visiting town Monday, advocates an elevator to handle grain and buy hogs for shipping, seeing it as boosting farmers wealth and local stock interests. The absence of an elevator and hog market is noted as harming local farmers.

Woman's Club Meeting Showcased Music and Readings

The Woman's Club held a brief business session with new membership recommendations for Mrs. D. L. Baird and Mrs. R. B. Landfair. Under music and drama, Miss Juliette Collins delivered The Homesteader's Daughter, and a younger-daughters chorus performed Pinafore, directed by Mrs. A. B. Martin and A. F. Allen. Various members contributed poems, readings, piano solos, and a Mother's Day paper, with a Fairies of the Woods chorus and assisting organizers noted. The next gathering, December 8, will focus on literary and library topics under Mrs. W. S. Colling.

Texas Oil company has placed huge storage tanks on cement trestles about ten feet high and added a small front building, signaling imminent readiness for business.

Visits Gouth Bench Amid Harsh Weather In Basin

Basin residents braved a cold blustery day to tour the South bench and Manderson country. They found fine stacks of grain hay and beet crops, with Mr Jones near Til Jones ranch revealing costly beets. The Montomery ranch showed lush crops. roads were improving after a local drag repair. A wedding announcement for D M Baker and Bertha Geiser was missed due to an error. A Methodist church parcels post event drew praise for its profitable fundraiser. Delbert Davis hosted the high school glee club with games, snacks, and a social.

Note To Teachers Seeks Examiners In Basin And Cowley

An examination for teachers will be held in Basin on November 26 and 27. All teachers near Basin may take advantage of this opportunity. Mrs Donaldson, county superintendent, will also hold an examination at Cowley with deputy Mrs W S Pease to oversee the Cowley place. Mrs Pease recently returned home after months visiting Iowa, California and other places.

Lawyers Celebrate Fraternity Dinner at Hartigan Home

Hastings Neb residents enjoyed a social evening hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Gilmore Hartigan. Guests included local lawyers W S Collins and T M Hyde, with M A Hartigan speaking. A four course dinner preceded carded toasts and light debate led by the host. Also noted were cattle shipments by Joc Henry and a Woman's Club Home Economics event for November 23 to raise funds for sewing machines and dishes.

Will Feed Steers T J Jones Doubles Beet Acreage

Will Feed Steers says T. J. Jones, a successful farmer and beet grower from Mander-308 country, plans to double beet acreage next season. Wtnesses In Cheyenne Case In Federal Court

The case of W J Moss versus Cyrus Tolman and Frank Tolman over land possession in the county is now before Cheyenne in federal court. The dispute began last summer when the Tolmans drove their sheep onto the land. Moss and his men were bound over at Basin until this term. Witnesses including C Ma4 ler, Frank I Rue, Justice J Bouell and others have been in the area for days assisting the case.
