Womans Club Holds Meeting With Library Program

The regular Womans club session was held in the library with Mrs Fred Vincent as moderator. After business they formed committees to consult with the local picture show for improving Mims quality and to draft a new constitution and by laws. Mr and Mrs Harry Hime and their son James depart Monday for a month long visit to Iowa and Indiana visiting Indianola and Marion with relatives and friends of Mrs Hime.

Cropsey Heads East for Rest and Medical Visit

Col. W. B. Cropsey of Greybull departed last Saturday noon for an extended eastern trip. He will consult a Des Moines specialist about his condition and hopes to return with improved nerves to the Big Horn Basin.

Mission Service at Catholic Church Sunday December 2

Father McNamara of St Stephen Mission will hold services at the Catholic church on Sunday December 2. A redivision of territory may place a priest at Bastin. The Christian Science church plans Thanksgiving service at Rex Theatre at 11:00 AM.

Oil Field Rumor Circulates West of Worland

Word spreads that a new oil field lies about four miles west of Worland with Basin businessmen filing on it this week. Local activity includes oil company executives traveling between Casper Grass Creek and Worland while the Lamb Drilling Co. advances at about 2150 feet in the Buffalo basin amid ongoing legal actions in Worland over oil property titling.

AMERICAN PATROL AMBUSHES GERMAN FORCE IN NO MAN'S LAND

American and French troops ambushed a large German patrol near the French lines in No Man's Land, killing or wounding several enemies. The encounter followed a trench raid and involved sheltering on a shell ruined farm as both sides increased patrol and artillery activity. An American noncommissioned officer was killed by German fire.

Wyoming Memorial Funds to Erect Cody Statue

Campaign officials explain Wyoming funds are for a larger Cody memorial at Cody Wyoming not only the Lookout Mountain memorial. Five thousand dollars from Wyoming's legislature will be added to by statewide contributions to create a grand equestrian statue in Cody with granite base and a surrounding park. The project aims to honor Colonel Cody and his service to the nation while promoting education and civic pride. Campaign work and state outreach are set to begin with literature distributed statewide.

Austrian traitor beaten then spared by Arizona miners

Joe Nejy an Austrian insulted the American flag at Gebo, provoking a hostile crowd. Miners halted a lynching, forced him to kiss the flag and kneel, then had him guarded by mine managers until Sheriff Holdrege and Deputy Robbins arrived with Nejy to Thermopolis. Federal authorities will decide his fate.

Orr Bound Over For Trial In District Court

At a preliminary hearing in the case State versus Orr in Justice Bonwell's court last Friday afternoon, Orr was bound over to the next district court term. Testimony from J. P. Zane and R. M. Jones for the state led to binding. The defendant declined to testify or present any defense.
