Appendicitis Operation Under Dr Croft at Cowley

Last Saturday Dr Croft of Cowley arrived with Miss Bertha Morreth of Byron and operated the same day for appendicitis. The case was difficult but the patient recovered from the operation. other complications followed and she has been in a critical condition, though there is slight improvement at present.

Charlie Vonberg, recently ill with tick fever, shows strong recovery and hopes to go home in a few days. Kermin Sykes of Manderson underwent a mastoid operation this week, which went very well after a delicate procedure. The little boy has recovered from the shock and is doing as well as could be hoped.

Six cars of pipe reach Chatham above Worland to supply pipe lime for Grogs Creek fields. Thirty five cars are en route for the work with ample laborer space claimed. The pipe lime company anticipates this as a major early milestone in the expansion and development efforts underway.

Mrs Zalida Robertson Death Shocks Basin Community

The Basin community learned of the death of Mrs Zalida Robertson after a long illness. She dedicated herself to helping others and serving those in distress. The funeral is expected tomorrow as the family awaits several traveling children. She would have been seventy five and left nine children, with Ole J Robertson and Oscar Robertson among those in Basin. Mrs Olive Morton wid Mrs Frank Judicina also survived.

A Slight Improvement In Local Health News

Edna Blakesley shows slight improvement after a week of illness. Dr. Carter of Thermopolia and Dr. Herbert Harris consulted Tuesday and performed the operation Wednesday morning. She is recovering as well as could be expected.

Woman's Club Program Highlights Seven Ages of Man

The Woman's club met on Wednesday afternoon to review time honored literature for all ages. Mrs. Ewers led Mother Goose, Mrs. Snow and Miss Birmingham presented fairy tales and operatic themes, while Miss Collins and Mrs. Craig shared fables and romance. The program included notes on Omar Khayyam, Buddhist parables, and curios loaned by Dr Grace Raymond Hebard. Refreshments followed and future officer elections and department signups were announced.

O W McNay this week received a Rocky Mountain goat, a fine specimen praised for the taxidermy. The animal, killed in Glacier National Park Montana, drew notable attention as many visitors had never seen such a rare creature in the window display.
