Wallace Held to the Court on Robbery Charge

Sheriff Wickwire and P. P. Anderson investigated a bold Monday night safe cracking at the Cowley Mercantile Co. The thief entered by breaking a window, opened the inner safe with drills, and took 320 in cash, 235 in thrift stamps, 2 watches, 2 knives, jewelry and other items. Two suspicious men were seen in town. authorities believe the suspect fled north toward Laurel.

Death Comes for B F Belton in Helena Montana
Benjamin F Belton died following surgery in Helena Montana after visiting his son for health recovery. He was born in 1857 in Indiana and married twice, with children in Basin and Logan Montana. Funeral held at Basin Methodist Church with burial in Mount View Cemetery and a brother returning from overseas service attended nearby.
