Members met at the Antlers last Monday with President Sullivan presiding. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. A bulletin from the freight department of the Burlington describes freight rates on canned goods between Basin and Sheridan, and a note from D. Clem Deaver asks merchants to print a statement on their stationery.
On Saturday evening April 26 Basin Lodge No 35 celebrated the 94th anniversary of Odd Fellowship in America with a ceremonial program. Participants included F T Brigham Charles Hime R J Extra and G J Schenk. Rebekah sisters joined and served a luncheon after the ceremonies. The address by G J Schenk focused on Odd Fellowship.
Having Fine Luck Fred Tallon, a leading sheepman from the Rairden neighborhood, reported near a hundred per cent increase in lambs this spring. His flocks thrive on alfalfa pasture and he has secured a summer range near Big Trails, preparing to move his bands soon. Basin friends cheer his success.
The ladies of the Presbyterian aid presented Mrs C Booth a gold jewel case this week with a speech by Mrs J P Arnott praising their friendship and cooperation and wishing her happiness in her new home in West Virginia. Deputy Sheriff Stone of Kangis searched for F H Phillips wanted in Kansas. Phillips had claimed to be a grain buyer here last week and left before the Kansas officer arrived. Stone then went to Portland Oregon to pursue his man. Rev BE L Johnson a Pekin China missionary will give a free lecture at the Carnegie library next Sunday at 11 o clock. Johnson is an engaging speaker and all are invited.
One of the year’s heaviest snows fell Wednesday and Thursday morning, melting quickly. The snowfall was valued at about a million dollars to local agricultural interests in Wyoming. Hultateriaus, editor of the Cow, jley Progress, visited town this week.
A Basin mass meeting at the town hall named A Higby for mayor and M H Smith with L E Watson for the council. J R Bonwell named secretary and C A Zaring permanent chairman. The meeting endorsed a nonpartisan Citizens Ticket and adjourned after casting the full slate.
A Park county alfalfa fed cattle shipment to Omaha yielded steers worth just over $100 each and cows a bit more than $95 per head. Despite delays and poor pasture, the fed cattle sold for strong prices, suggesting hay surplus can be profitably utilized. Cody Herald notes the Bazaar by St. Andrew's guild on election day May 13 will offer baked goods and refreshments in the Johnson Pease Co. building.

D G Brown visited Basin on business this week while J C Poison and Tommy Dixon passed through on the way to Basin. L J Diehl also traveled to Basin late in the week. S Helly and Mrs Hyatt joined as passengers and Mrs Hyatt remained in Basin several days awaiting another express train.
