Good Roads Convention Planned for Northern Wyoming
At Buffalo Wyoming Friday and Saturday April 19 and 20 1912 a Good Roads convention is called to organize the Northern Wyoming Good Roads association. Delegates from Weston Crook Campbell Sheridan Johnson and others urged to attend and equip delegates with credentials. South Dakota Deadwood and Wyoming citizens are invited to participate. Hayden M White vice president of the Dakota Wyoming Interstate Highway Association presides. Tomorrow night a moving picture program at Fraternity hall features six films followed by a 10 p m dance with Smith Bros orchestra.

P O Fish has leased the W A Waldo ranch above Tensleep and has taken possession. Mr Waldo moved to Nebraska with household goods shipped from Mandela. J B Langworthy of Des Moines, kin of A W Coons, visited for the first time this week. Lannworthy, traveling for a large machinery house, praised Basin climate after months of severe weather. County Superintendent A P F Kerup arrived to arrange teachers' exams scheduled today and tomorrow.

Indiana and New York Republicans pick delegates this week
Taft supporters in Indiana claim a 105 delegate margin from 1,439. Four Taft delegates at large elected in Indiana with Roosevelt delegates opposing. Indiana results show Taft 18 Roosevelt 12 in delegation. In New York, organization delegates claim victory over Roosevelt in 17 districts. Barnes says opposition will win at most seven of 90 national convention seats. No final Roosevelt statement after polls closed.

Engineers Meet at Carnegie Library In Wyoming
The Wyoming Society of Civil Engineers held a two day session at the Carnegie library with a large attendance. The next meeting is set for April 26 at the same venue. Will Give Dance at Fraternity Hall April 1 hosted by the High School Athletic Association. Carl Wilson purchases a Liberty Brush automobile from G. W. Black to be used in chasing trouble for the telephone company this summer.

Accidentally Shot Claims Life of John Larson’s Nephew
Lee Anderson eighteen who died after being shot while harnessing a horse Sunday. The 19 year old had carried a six shooter in a scabbard under his arm. He was taken to Greybull where Dr. Hamilton could not save him and died Monday evening. He came from Norway about three years ago and was well liked by locals. Funeral services were held at the Larsen home on Shell last Tuesday. W. J. Stanley makes a short visit in Manderson today.

Basin Hospital Sold to Chicago Physician Partners
Dr C Dana Carter sold his Basin County medical practice to Dr Chester E Harris of Chicago. A new company, including Drs G A Harris and H T Harris, will run Basin Hospital after May 1. Carter quits county practice for five years, planning rest and uncertain relocation. He pioneered local surgery including Caesarian and trephining.
Woman's club program at library session
The Woman's club held a fine program at the library on Wednesday afternoon with Mrs. Henry Armeling as chair. Readings included Masters and masterpieces of Italian painting by Mrs. Frank Hime and read by Mrs. W. W. Murphy, and The Rabbi recited by Miss Doughty, plus The Brook and American Art and Sculpture paper by Armeling. Luncheon followed. Paris Daugherty of Tensleep has recovered from a badly sprained shoulder and returned home from Basin hospital. Earl will come Wednesday to take him home, and Miss Boasie Williams was seen in Grey Bull between trains.

Not Guilty Packers Freed By Jury This Week
Chicago packers were acquitted in a ten year battle with the government in United States District Judge Carpenter's court. The jury returned a unanimous verdict after 19 hours of deliberation amid reports the government failed to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. District Attorney Wilkerson declined to comment on possible further investigations into the beef packing industry.

Narrow escape as Mrs Warren Jones narrowly survives house fire
Last Friday morning Mrs Warren Jr Jones stood on a chair when her dress caught fire from a gas stove. Prompt help from nearby men and Dr H T Harrie saved her from severe burns. She shows gradual recovery after burns on hips back and hands and intense pain.
Road debate and river vote dominate Progress club dinner
The Progress club met at the Antlers with J B Thompson presiding. A plan to route a Shell Basin road through Tensleep canyon was discussed as Milo Burke of Tensleep urged cooperation and offered to host a site visit. The meeting empowered the road committee to inspect the route, while reports from the Wyoming Highways Association and Sugar industry policy were deferred. The Republican straw vote forecast Monday’s finish with Roosevelt leading, followed by Taft and Wilson amid strong local interest.
