Otie Townsend of Shell Creek complained his wife Mrs. Margret Townsend appeared before Court Commissioner H. Smith on a Saturday afternoon charged with in sanity. A jury of six men heard the case, the defendant escaped briefly but was later found hiding. She was adjudged insane and ordered committed to the Evanston asylum.
