Masonic Banquet At Antlers Hotel Nets Praise From Visitors

A joint Masonic gathering of Big Horn Basin judges and members held at the Antlers Hotel featured a banquet and midnight luncheon with toastmaster E. J. Sullivan. The program included speeches by City and lodge leaders and invitations from numerous visiting dignitaries from states and towns including South Dakota Illinois Nebraska Oregon and Wyoming.

Hartigan Resigns From Metropolitan Pharmacy Post

W O Hartigan tendered his resignation as secretary and manager of the Metropolitan Pharmacy. He will retain his stake until he can dispose of it and takes a needed rest. A successor will take over soon after April first.

No Registration for Upcoming Special Election in April

County clerk clarifies no registration needed for the April 22 special election on state highway bonds. Voters who registered for the November general election can vote, while those ill or prevented from voting may be sworn in, with no new registration.

City to hire Cheyenne engineer for plant report

The city council met last Tuesday to review improvements at the walr and light plant. It decided to secure C. C. Carlysse, an engineer from Cheyenne, to examine the plant and submit a report shortly.

Word arrived Wednesday that Wyoming’s 148th regiment, part of the 32nd division, will sail for home in early May. The unit’s departure signals a concluding phase of its overseas service.

Welcome Committee Returns Money For Wyoming Welcome

The Wyoming legislature set aside $10,000 to welcome returning soldiers but a committee found the cost of a dollar’s worth of welcome would be at least $3 under current conditions. They recommended saving the grant for a future Wyoming welcome, which Governor Carey approved. Montgomery and Bennett funded related work in New York and the fund remains intact for Wyoming.
