Large delegation from Basin county gathers to organize a county union of the Farmers Educational and Cooperative American movement. W S Deland presides, officers elected include F E B Ewing president and M G Traugh vice president. Committees named on executive cooperative legislation and resolutions praise the plan, urge county agent funding, and thank W S Deland and library board. The group sets July Basin meeting and endorses Rumsey cooperative proposal.

Exhibition of Joe to Tour Nearby Towns

Will exhibit the elephant Joe in nearby towns next week after a purchase by Darling and his sister last Friday from Loulg Luft. They plan to feature Joe in Basin before joining the Pantages vaudeville circuit. Joe has learned a new eating routine and is praised as highly intelligent for exhibition use. Mr Loring and Miss Sample have made friends in Basin and wish them success on the road.

Hart selects committee to meet Parmesian union on fair plan

President Hart of the Progress association names F A Wise T W Pratt and W C Snow to represent the club in a conference with a chairman from the Parmere union to discuss holding a fair.

Tennis Club Plans for Coming Season Formed

Last Saturday the local tennis club met at T. K. Bishop’s office to plan the season. Courts will be spruced up immediately and an assessment levied. Seven new members join, boosting prospects, while word from Basin towns signals renewed interest among tennis enthusiasts.

High Hits Intercollegiate Track Meet Planned

An enthusiastic meeting last Friday discussed holding an interscholastic track meet and declamatory event soon. Powell supports the plan, Then Mopolia and Worland show promise, Cody is doubtful. Each school will send a team of five. a Wiseland meet is anticipated. Rehearsals for Uncle Josh progress. students are actively practicing their darts and music closes continue to improve.

Lands Restored To Entry In Western States

About 88 000 acres in Wyoming from four former oil withdrawals were restored to entry by the president in February following a Geological Survey examination that found the land non oil in character. In Idaho about 2 000 acres of land withheld from entry in power site reserves were found to have no power value and were restored.

Mr and Mrs H H Hime entertained the Owl whist club last Saturday evening at their pleasant Sixth Street home. Three tables were filled and an enjoyable evening passed with hostess serving elegant refreshments. Progress Dinner Meeting at the Antlers Discusses Creamery Progress

The Club met at the Antlers on Wednesday for the Progress dinner. President Hart presided while Lou Blakesley reported on conferring with Mr. Rumsey about the creamery and by the end a committee was to draft a plan to take over the creamery. Attendees also discussed plans for a fair in autumn and approved forming a committee to work with the Farmers' Union. Additional notes included a descriptive article for the Billings Gazette on the Big Horn Basin and letters from E. Lonabaugh of Sheridan requesting land re-entry cooperation and from Sheridan Commercial Club seeking aid for a state railway commission. The meeting adjourned after no further business.

Wyoming dry farming convention to meet in Cheyenne

The Wyoming State dry farming convention will hold its annual meeting in Cheyenne on March 24 to 26. Market Prices and Sheep Lamb Demand Reported Today

Cattle and veal prices range from 6.00 to 10.50 with steers 7.60 to 8.40 and veal calves up to 10.50. Hogs strengthen with tops at 8.80 the highest since last September. Receipts total 8300 with lambs steady to 10 higher than Friday and good lambs 7.75 to 8.36. Sheep and lambs closed strong last week and sales today hold at week’s best figures.
