President Wilson demands record vote on anti administration resolutions

Washington March 1 President Wilson demanded a full record vote on anti administration resolutions to warn Americans off belligerent ships before submarine negotiations. He rejected compromises like a confidence vote, warning Berlin of united congressional and party support for strict observance of international law. The administration paused on Germany talks while awaiting Congress action and did not accept the latest German assurances.

Postmaster Examination Notice in Powell and Hyattville

An exam for fourth class postmaster will be held in Powell on March 26 for a possible vacancy at Hyattville and other places. Write the Hyattville postmaster for details. Man held on theft charge in Justice Court

In Justice Court, Saat Mondhy Sheriff Wickwire detained a man who first gave the name Richards. He admitted his true name is Frank Rinker after questioning. A hearing is set for 10 this morning before Justice Bonwell.

Snowy Rock Springs train hold up described in detail

Report closely mirrors the man who robbed a Union Pacific train near Rock Springs a few weeks ago, noting he carries many railroad keys and is identified by observers. County Spelling Contest Set For Saturday March Eleventh

The county spelling contest for all schools will be held Saturday at 2 o clock. Many schools from outside districts and town show strong interest and a large number of pupils are expected. A suitable prize awaits the winners. Mr and Mrs RH Landfair hosted Gov Kendrick at dinner last Sunday. the governor is an old acquaintance of Mr Landfair, making the affair notably enjoyable.

A big crowd gathered at the Carnegie library to hear Governor Kendrick and Treasurer H B Gates discuss road building in the state. They urged Yellowstone highway expansion and county use of convicts for road work, with plans for a five member committee to pursue funding and crews.

Western support for amended Ferris water power bill

Washington March 1. The senate Public lands committee adopted amendments to the Ferris water power bill to be offered in the senate. One amendment removes interior secretary power to fix rental charges and ties charges to land value based on horsepower per year for actual power used. Another allows renewal of a lease after 60 years. Western senators oppose leasing water power rights but accept the amendments as the most liberal legislation possible at this time.

Wyoming Wool Growers elects Dr J M Wilson president

Dr J M Wilson was in Cheyenne to assume the offices and assets of the secretary of the Wyoming Wool Growers association. He moved the headquarters to Platte Valley ranch near Orin Junction and will also serve as secretary treasurer. George Walker resigned after twelve years as secretary. the executive committee has not found a replacement.

School Land Sale At Court House Draws Bidders

Leslie Miller of the state land board of Reyenne conducted a school land sale at the court house on Wednesday. Otto county bidders pursued a tract advertised for sale, with D. W. Hanner paying $17 per acre. A. S. Mercer Jr bought another tract in Hyattville country at the minimum $10 per acre. Miller then proceeded to Worland to auction more lands.

Moved To Ranch Near Manderson

Mr and Mrs Will Spratt relocate to a ranch south of Manderson to focus on feeding ranch products and improve health. The Spratts long served as Basin State Bank assistant cashier and plan to leave that post for ranch life. Douglas Hosts Evening With Dancing And Lunch. The Shaws moved into the Spratt house and plan extensive oil well drilling with two rigs already and a third planned near Greybull. In court, McDonald vs Baldwin appealed from district court with Judge Raymond's June decision upheld. Hyde of Basin and Brome Rich of Worland argued for Baldwin estate.

Mr Stevens Dead Uncle Ike Dies in County Care

Uncle Ike Stevens long time county charge died last Thursday and will be buried today. He was very old with no known relatives, having lived many years in the county and on Shell Creek. Meanwhile high school pupils formed a new orchestra with Hugh Gould as president Ruth O Neill as secretary and Darrel Downey as treasurer aiming to provide music for the school.
