Western support for amended Ferris water power bill
Washington March 1. The senate Public lands committee adopted amendments to the Ferris water power bill to be offered in the senate. One amendment removes interior secretary power to fix rental charges and ties charges to land value based on horsepower per year for actual power used. Another allows renewal of a lease after 60 years. Western senators oppose leasing water power rights but accept the amendments as the most liberal legislation possible at this time.

School Land Sale At Court House Draws Bidders
Leslie Miller of the state land board of Reyenne conducted a school land sale at the court house on Wednesday. Otto county bidders pursued a tract advertised for sale, with D. W.
