Inclement weather and a no show by the band reduced attendance though the Boy Scouts and Junior Red Cross girls assisted with patriotism. T. J. Jones opened remarks and Harclroad led military calls as Otto Frisbie's Scouts saluted the flag and recited the salute.

Hyattville will host a Fourth of July program beginning at 10 a.m. with Basin band music and songs. Hon. A. G. Mercer delivers opening address with Reading and Declaration of Independence. The Basin band performs overtures and songs, flag drill and Star Spangled Banner. Dinner at 2 p.m. dancing at the hall, supper at 8 p.m. band concert and a picture show later. Proceeds from the dance go to the Basin band.
