Earl Bovard a Basin garage mechanic who moved to a farm near Elk Creek was found dead last Sunday by neighbor Tod Calvert. A jury and county coroner ruled natural causes from stomach ulcer and hemorrhage after postmortem. Survived by mother Mrs. Ella M. Bovard and two sisters in Nebraska and Colorado. Funeral held Tuesday conducted by Rev. C Wardlaw and Dean Watkins. Pallbearers listed. Born Port Byron Illinois, nearly 32. served in World War I 168th Infantry. Lived with Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Sowers near Basin for years. mourned as a quiet, industrious man with many friends.

Water official Blakesley to visit Lander for several weeks
Lou Blakesley, superintendent of water division No. 3, left Monday for Gooseberry and Grass creek country then to Lander for several weeks to attend to office matters. He will be across the Indian reservation and on upper Wind River where important issues will need his oversight. Mail or phone messages reach him in Lander until about August first, when he returns to Basin. He is accompanied by Mrs. Blakesley who will stay with her parents in Lander.
