GUILTY OF RAPE SENTENCE IN RAWLINS
Jos Jones of Shell creek pleaded guilty to rape before Judge Metz and received a sentence of five to ten years. Annie Jones, fourteen, made the accusation. Jones was jailed and sent to the Rawlins penitentiary while the girl was taken to the Florence Crittenden home in Denver.

Frank Hime Returns Home After Illness
Frank Hime returned to Basin on Monday after traveling through Minnesota and Iowa. He was operated on for appendicitis in Rochester Minnesota and later visited his mother in Indianola Iowa. He is improving rapidly and friends wish him a speedy full recovery.

On Tuesday morning six business men mobilized from Basin for a socially noted trip to Grass Creek oil fields. J H Welsh led one car with Dr Mark H Smith and J B Thompson, T K Bishop followed with Wm Gibson and others, and D L Carr led the third car with P P Anderson. They inspected bridges and culverts, noted generally satisfactory grading, and judged creek crossings mostly sound except where crossings were exceptionally bad. They lunched at Ohio Oil Co camp after arriving around noon.
