The Wyoming Gas Co confirms closing with Ohio Oil Co for Hidden Dome gas. A new Midwest Refining Co and Wyoming Gas Co consortium will finance a pipeline to Greybull and Basin, enabling eight inch pipe delivery and surveying to begin. The project costs about half a million dollars with gas priced to beat coal, ensuring ample supply for homes and local industry for decades.

Reservoir district work advances in Greybull country

Preliminary work on forming the Greybull reservoir district continues. R L Preator Grant Yarnell Levi Snyder and 8 Skovgard with Engineer True visited upper Greybull sites to survey costs as petition circulation among landowners begins. Mian Nelle Huff and Mrs H H Hime hosted a linen shower for Miss Lucile Coons at Hime’s home. The event featured many beautiful and useful gifts and a delightful afternoon for the prospective bride. That evening the Epical club guild held a kitchen shower at Mrs Guy Brill’s home in honor of Minn Coons with numerous suitable gifts given by guild members.

Daylight Saving Law Repeal Effort Moves Forward

Washington July 16 Republican leaders in the house with senate party support seek to repass the agricultural appropriation bill containing a daylight saving repeal rider despite the president's veto. Provisions allowing the interstate commerce commission to fix time zones remain intact and would not be discarded. Chairman Haugen reintroduced the agricultural bill after rules committee assurances.

The Big Horn Basin Pioneer association holds its annual picnic at Booth Grove on Paint Rock, inviting all who came to the basin before 1900. A basket dinner and Basin band music are planned, with meat provided by the committee. The day ends with a big Hyattville dance.

Better Schools Conference In Laramie Discusses Rural Methods

Mrs. C L Vandevender attended the better schools conference in Laramie at the University of Wyoming from July 8 to 11. Mrs. Nellie Wales was the only other attendee from the Basin. Topics covered uniform rural school methods and care for defective children, with $10 000 appropriated by the legislature for this work.

Commissioner on Tour Signals Wyoming Creek Recovery

C. W. Margareidge state fish and game commissioner from Sheridan arrived in Hyattville meeting Elisa Bayne of the hatchery. He traveled from Laramie to inspect the Hyattville plant and will proceed to Cody. He said state creeks were high but no cause for concern and predicted local streams return to normal in about thirty days.

Conserva tive Prohibition Faction Heights Debate in Congress

Washington July 16 Conservative members of the prohibition faction in the house moved to curb radical efforts to widen the enforcement bill. They warned that overreach could trigger Senate defeats and a presidential veto. Reports said Rep Morgan Oklahoma proposed making it illegal to keep a jug at home for personal use and others sought to reinsert provisions banning any use of liquor at home.

Simple Wedding in St Andrews Church in Basin

A modest ceremony took place Tuesday at 10 am in St Andrews church with Rev. Dean Watkins officiating. T Earl Keefer of Parkerton Wyoming and Lucile Coons daughter of A W Coons were wed in the pink and white decor. A breakfast followed at the bride’s home and the couple planned to Casper and then Parkerton where Keefer runs warehouses in the Big Muddy field for the Midwest.

Jesse Troller of the National Sup ply rode foot from Booth ranch to Paint Rock Lakes with only a blanket and frying pan. He says fishing there is no sport as fish come to meet anglers and claims he caught a very large fish before leaving the lake. He says he could not carry it home and released it after marking it for future reference.

Whiskey raid nets five barrels at Moeller farm

Sheriff Wickwire seized five bar rels of whiskey from a barn on Fred E. Moeller’s Liberty bench farm under a warrant from Justice J. R. Bonwell. Moeller denies ownership, claiming the whiskey was stored by others who planned to move it before July 1st. The contraband was stored at Basin courthouse awaiting court orders.
