A report from near Otto states Mrs Walter Manny accidentally fired a gun, wounding herself. She is hospitalized as local authorities investigate the incident and assess handling of the firearm.
Woman Dies From Gun Accident In Basin Area
Mrs Walter Manny died after a 22 caliber rifle discharged while she tried to drive off a dog in the Manny yard south of Otto. The weapon misfired as she grabbed the barrel, the bullet lodging in the stomach. She died Saturday morning at the Basin hospital after being conscious earlier and recounting the events. Funeral held at Basin’s Methodist church with burial at Mount Zion. She was 25, married in 1914 to Walter Manny, survived by her mother, brother, sister, and father.
