On Friday evening January 19 a wedding took place with regular ceremony. Dean Nash and Gaited them in marriage with few attendants. The bride wore modest attire and Mrs Thelbride arranged a late reception at the home. The couple later joined a club dance and spent the night at a friend’s home.

A wedding took place at the Methodiet parsonage on Friday January 19 at 1 o clock Rev R M Jones uniting Miss Owens and Robert Henderson. The couple, known in Basin, left for a Denver honeymoon and plan to settle in Basin where Henderson will seek permanent work. Congratulations were extended to the newlyweds.

Pioneer J J Marshall Dies After Long Illness

J J Marshall, 62, a long time Cody resident, died Sunday after his wife Mrs Marshall passed weeks earlier. Survived by daughters Mrs Clyde Atherly of Badin and Merv Ghas Sterreit of Cody. Remains brought to Bains on Wednesday and funeral held at the Atherly home at 10 30 a.m. next Thursday. The community mourns his loss.

Worland Beats Basin in Weekend Basketball Battle

Worland hosted Basin last Saturday at the Stone Schoolhouse where Basin fell 33 to 15. Lamb and Shaw led Basin with field baskets while Worland’s home team showed strong effort in the final game before a rematch planned in Worland.

Accident Near Tensleep Injures Driver in Car Breakage

Hard Daugherty had a serious accident about a mile and a half from Tensleep when a differentiad j on his car broke. The machine pulled with difficulty as the lsnow made it hard to go low and the mentioned part gave out. Daugherty had driven the car eighteen thousand miles without serious trouble until then.

Man accused in theft case from supper returns to find missing silverware

A party member reported missing silverware after returning to supper. The suspect was found at the station looking for a pine to dice and was intoxicated. Stolen goods were found on him and he was penitently held. he promised to leave town on the next train, so prosecutors did not pursue charges.

Death of Samuel P. Gilmore

The remains of Samuel P. Gilmore will be sent to his former home at Centerville Missouri. Gilmore died of pulmonary tuberculosis on January 22 after coming to Basin in search of a wealthier way of life. He is survived by his wife and four children in poor circumstances. The Odd Fellows took charge of the remains and will bury him in Centerville.

Cowley Defeats Burrington 32 to 8 in Varsity Basketball

Last Friday an eight man crowd watched Cowley overtake Burrington in a basketball game ending 32 to 8. R. B. Weat made a brief trip to Loveté this week, traveling Wednesday evening and returning yesterday.

Old Timers Meet in Basin Big Horn Basin Event

The Old Timers of the Big Horn Basin plan a Feb 12 gathering at Basin in the stone sobdal halls. Events include a 3 pm regular meeting, a 7 pm old fashioned round up supper, reminiscences by association members, and a dance with the Old Timers Orchestra.
