Death of Mrs. S. H. Smith of Hugme
Mrs. S. H. Smith died Monday evening after a lingering illness. Born Sept 1865 in Cedar Rapids Iowa, she was 60 years old. She married S. I. Smith in 1883 at Kenesaw Nebraska. they lived in Basin since 1910. Survived by husband three sons Norval Beryl Adrian and daughter Mrs Paul Zimmerman, mother Mrs Maria Reed, sisters Mrs Susie Henderson and Mrs Mary Wenner, brother Wiley Reed. A respected community member, she contributed to school work and was active in the Woman's Club and Eastern Star. Funeral services were held under auspices of the local lodge.

Marilon Willis Undergoes Appendicitis Operation
Marilon Willis of Cowley was stricken with appendicitis last Sunday. He was taken to Basin hospital the next day with Dr. EB W. Ofort and L. J. Wils. Willis underwent an operation that was entirely successful and he is reported to be progressing well and expected to return home soon.
