Death of a Pioneer Jessee R Matthews Hyattville
Jessee R Matthews of Hyattville died January 17 1922 after a long illness. Born November 14 1856 in Darlington Wisconsin he lived in Newton Kansas Wisconsin and Wyoming before settling in Hyattville in 1897 where he remained 25 years. He left a widow Sarah Fliagland two sons Johnie who died in 1901 and Ray who survives, a brother Dave and sisters Mrs M J Freeman and Mrs H L Hart. He was a charter member of Temple Lodge No 20 AFAM and funeral services were conducted by the lodge with interment in Hyattville cemetery. The Republican extends condolences to the family.
