Trades and transfers near Resin and Thermopolis
This week F L Kirkpatrick traded his ranch over Otto to Fred Harman for residence property occupied by Mr Harmen in Resin. They plan to move around April 1. Fred has farmed many years and Kirkpatrick seeks a city stint. A man named Kelly was brought to Thermopolis last week for forging a check on the Bury hotel and it emerges he operated here. Sheriff Wickwire was notified by Little Gem restaurant manager Savidge that Kelly passed a $6 bogus check on the 28th of last month drawn on an Onm bank. George Clark of Kane was a visitor in town Tuesday.

At the Woman's club meeting Mrs Catherine Morton read a report on Red Cross funds and the Belgian relief donation of 10. The committee to buy flowers for Mrs S Smith heard she is ill. The program, led by Mesdames Snow Pease Belton Denny Main Craig and Booth, featured literary items and songs with Mrs J F Ewers Mrs B T Joslin and Miss Besie Burmingham as entertainers. A reception followed. Henry Payne suffered a nonfatal gun accident near the post office and was treated at Dr Harris's office.

Byron teacher burned to death in rooming house fire
Wilford Conger 25 a Byron public school teacher died in a early Tuesday fire that destroyed his rooming house. Coroner G A Harris and County Attorney W B Collins led an inquest and ruled death from fire caused by an overheated gas stove. Conger taught 7th and 8th grades and was highly esteemed by the Byron community. His funeral arrangements were set to Cody.

The Mid-Continent company, via local agent Mr Stafta, has contracted Mr Crew to drill a well on the H H Hime place north of the brick plant and near the Ahrens tract. Mr Crawte will move a rig from Bonanza field this week and begin once the ground is prepared.
