Nation wide prohibition wins in house vote 282 to 128

The U S House approved a constitutional amendment banning the manufacture sale and importation of intoxicating liquor for beverage purposes. The measure needs seven years for ratification by state legislatures and may be submitted as a Christmas present to the American people with Senate approval anticipated.

Wyoming Day Program At Library Draws Crowd

The Woman's club chaired by Mrs. Snow held a Wyoming Day program in the library assembly room last Friday night. The event featured readings and songs about Wyoming including We will never let the Old Flag Fall and The Moon Hangs Low, with performances by Mrs. Snow Mrs. Land fair Miss Ruth O Neil and Miss Kath leen O Neil. An informal dance and light refreshments followed the program.

The 1. O. O. F. of Worland held its annual meeting Tuesday night with several Basin members in attendance. Guests included Dr. Carr, John Coons, Harry Lesse, Wm Gibson, Harry Bailey, Jake Schenk, Chas Hime, R. J. Extra, J. W. Osborn, Loren Gray and Frank T. Brigham.

Kimbro Buys Mullen Ranch Near Shell Post

K K Kimbro completed a deal last week to become owner of the Mullen ranch near the Shell post office. The couple moved to the new home on Monday and have long resided on Beaver Creek. They are well known in Hinsin and will be seen more often in town now.

War Dept Reports Action On Training Camp Health Measures

Secretary Baker outlined steps to improve post health conditions including woolen uniforms for all troops and compliance with most medical department recommendations. A National Red Cross push seeks 10 million members nationwide and Basin area aims for 1000 new members. Nebraska Professors Join Base Hospital Unit in France

Gustave Fuchs, former superintendent, writes of entering base hospital unit number 49 in the U S medical corps. He notes 152 enlisted positions filled from 1000 applications, with 400 from Lincoln. Masons Form New Club In Greybull Meet

Skovgard attended a Greybull meeting of the Masons last Friday night. The Greybull lodge organized into a Masonic club with semiannual meetings in the Big Horn Basin. Hosts gave a first class session and a fine banquet was a notable feature.
