Greybull Oil Company starts big brick plant week

A new gas gusher was brought in by Greybull Oil Company two miles north of Torchlight in Basin. Superintendent Homer T. Lamb says daily output could reach three to 3.5 million cubic feet. Gas will be piped to the main camp and used for pumping water and heating. The Basin Shale and Tile Works opened, hiring workers as brick kilns and tile machinery are installed for spring.

Canal Association Meet to Tackle Debts and Plan Fair

A Canal Association meeting of Pig Horn County Fair rectors convened Tuesday morning at E J Sulivan’s office. Committees were formed to clear indebtedness ahead of next year’s fair and to stage home talent shows and dances during winter. A separate panel will manage sale of a fine registered cow. New board officers will be elected after debts are settled, likely by next summer before the 1914 fair. The committee urged broad cooperation, noting the fair benefits the county and raises local property values.

Basin Gardens Bylaw Quorum Lacks. Schubert Concert Delights

The Basin Gardens Big Horn County Canal association adjourned its stockholders meeting due to no quorum as only about ten thousand acres were represented against a required thirteen thousand. Directors met. C. L. Brome’s reclamation was accepted, Dr. M. H. Smith elected chairman and Hartigan treasurer. Meanwhile the Schubert Concert company, presented by the Basin band, drew strong acclaim at Fra crow nity hall with Valentine Purcell and Leeta Comer receiving enthusiastic applause.

Lecture Monday Night at Mather Church Series

Dr Francis J. Fluno, board member, featured on Christian Bolence at a Fraternity ball boat event Monday evening to a large, appreciative audience. The speaker, an eloquent figure, was well qualified to headline at the church. The venue was tastefully decorated with flowers and plants, though the overall area was not very impressive.

Owens Marries Birdie Keating Bell Employee in Billings

J. C. Owens longtime Bell Telephone plant manager in Billings wed Birdie Keating formerly traffic manager for Bell in Billings last Thursday. The couple are on a honeymoon and will reside in Billings after returning. Owens is well known in Basin and many friends wish them happiness.

Depositions Taken in William Cox Will Contest

Depositions of Isaac Holloway and Otto’s wife taken in Judge Me’s chambers yesterday morning. The disputed will of William Cox, resident of Dallas County, Iowa, prompts the inquiry as the Holloways were closely acquainted with the deceased. The depositions were recorded by the attorney in charge.
