Big Horn Basin cattle and horse growers form association

Representatives of cattle and horse producers in the Big Horn Basin meet in Basin to organize the Big Horn Cattle and Horse Growers Association. A constitution and by laws were adopted and officers elected for the coming year, urging membership and cooperation to protect stock interests and promote state and national legislation.

New Basin group gains wide support for irrigation and settlers

Cleveland Wyoming Oil Company hits new well

Reamed on good authority a fine well was added by Scott Mile on contract for the Cleveland Wyoming Oil Company Camison. Mile has brought in a second well for the company and is regarded as an expert in oil field work. The success is likely to boost demand for his services as the oil game opens up.

Quiet Basin Wedding Unites Freeman and Burnham Couple

On Wednesday evening Justice Bonwell officiated at 6 30 for James Ernest Freeman and Mrs De Mae Burnham in a small ceremony attended by intimate friends and relatives. The couple hosted a wedding dinner at The Groc ome, with Basin leading businessman and longtime resident The marriage surprised many friends who wish the couple happiness and prosperity.

Catholic Services and Visitors Arrive in Town

Rev Father Endres will officiate a wedding for Watson Wyman Jr. and bride Noreno Wiley who arrived Friday from Idaho Springs and spent a few hours in town before departing for the Wyman home. Magee Warren tilley from Hyattsville arrived last evening, slowing plans with Poster Scott for a venue in nearby slum. Higby, a secretary, visited with his daughter Lauda on Wednesday, along with Mr. B C Hart.

Progress Club Meeting At The Antlers In Basin

Basin Progress association members dined at the Antlers with Mayor Berry presiding. They discussed inviting the state teachers association next year, growing corn for silage, and testing its feeding value. A three member committee was formed to plan corn cultivation and record tests for dairy cattle and hog feeding.

Women’s club department meets at library

The literature and library department of the Woman’s club chaired by Mrs. W. C. Snow met last Friday with nine members present. Programs included Comparative Mythology readings, reviews of Raidmin’s wonder book on horses, Homer’s Odyssey, and a piece on Cleo the Greek Boy with plans for a Christmas and New Year customs topic next holiday week. Separately oil field pipeline near Tilferd canal burned, producing black smoke and drawing townspeople to observe.

Post Office Hours and Christmas Parcel Notice

Patrons should mail all letters and packages by noon daily as the mails close at that hour. On Sunday the general delivery window opens 1 45 to 2 00 p m for traveling public. Christmas parcel notice says parcels up to 50 lbs within 150 miles or 20 lb items mailed early, wrapped securely and addressed plainly. Parcels may be marked not to be opened until Christmas.

The Acme amusement company will host a big dance and picture show in Hyatttville on Christmas night. Smith post orchestra will furnish the music for the carnival dance with carnival souvenirs to be given away. Tickets are one dollar and the event promises value for money. The surrounding country is expected to attend, ensuring a lively evening.

Woman's Club Meeting Enthusiastic and Well Attended

The Woman's club met last Wednesday afternoon in a lively session with My T Armstrong as chair and Mrs E J Sullivan as associate chair. Members arranged a program including piano solo by Miss Bessie Birmingham and papers on Home Economics and Colton by Nellie Maxwell, with vocal solo by Mrs B T Joslin. Refreshments followed.

Market notes from Kansas City and Missouri describe a mixed week with cattle and hog prices varying, receipts at 12,000 head, and a notable day for lambs with pea fed prices reaching 5.00 and lambs 7.60 to 7.85.

Presbyterian Church Plans Regular Sabbath Services
