Dehydrating Plant to Open in Cowley
W. T. Johnson of Wyoming Dehydrating Co visits Cowley before the plant opening. The facility will produce starch and potato flour from cull potatoes, with a three-car daily capacity and 150-car storage, and will pay top market price to growers for suitable potatoes.

Tragedy at Buffalo Basin Gas Site Claims Three
Three men died from gas asphyxiation at Little Buffalo Basin while working on a well. W M Kline died in the cellar beneath the derrick, followed by J H Morris and Rudolph Stahl who rushed to aid him. Masses of gas in the high pressure field caused the fatalities. masks were provided but not used by the doomed men. Bodies were sent to Thermopolis and Casper for burial arranged by P H Knight and Supt Morris of the Casper refinery.

Gilmore Hartigan died at Basin hospital after suffering appendicitis and gastric ulcer. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the hospital church with Dean Watkins officiating. Interment followed at Mount View cemetery with pallbearers A W Coons D E Lewis H Wise Thos M Hyde Judge P W Metz and R E Gleeson. Relatives attending included his mother Mrs Martha Hartigan and siblings Mrs Fred Goble and Lieut Ernest Swanson.

Raid on illicit stills leads to multiple arrests
Sheriff Wickwire and Barney Koontz conducted raids with search warrants to disrupt illegal liquor manufacture in the county. Hits included a Jap farmer’s hidden mash and moonshine from a copper still at Jake Schneider and Henry Richel farms, plus mash found at John Youngman’s Durkee home. Bonds posted. authorities expect further convictions and more raids under prohibition law.

Alamo drainage district awards contract to Threet Bros Ol son
The Alamo drainage district board awarded the contract for tile drainage to Threet Bros and Olson of Lovell, about $13,000 under the nearest bid.
