A letter from the secretary of the state bankers association informs Higby that Burlington has set a two cent per mile round trip rate for the convention in Cheyenne on August 7 and 8. Sid. Points in the Big Horn Basin will have a return limit to August 10. Local bankers are urged to use the rate as many Basin bankers are expected to attend and discuss important matters.

Bitten by rattlesnake near Thermopolis ranch
The seven year old daughter of Henry Johnson was bitten by a rattlesnake at the head of Buffalo creek near Thermopolis. The limb swelled and turned black before Dr. Carter arrived and she was taken to Thermopolis hospital where she is now out of danger. It is the first serious rattlesnake bite of the year in the area.

Towns Urged To Host Wyoming Industrial Institute
State Board of Charities and Reform explains the 1911 law creating the Wyoming Industrial Institute to rehabilitate young offenders. Any town may be chosen by a public petition with at least 100 signatures, and the site must be irrigable land with ample water and suitable for farming and stock raising. County Commissioner Suffered Broken Leg in Montana Runaway
Chas. Donald county official injured near 5 Montana last Thursday in a runaway accident suffering a fracture to his right leg. He was in Montana to set up a Monument Inn cemetery for Great Western Marble and Granite Works, where he works. After the cemetery business he rode back to town with a rancher driving four horse team. the team was frightened and threw him from the wagon. Medical aid was given and a plaster cast applied. He rode the train Saturday to his home in Oregon and is reportedly recovering rapidly.
