New Rex Theatre Opens With High Class Shows
Basin’s Rex theatre opened Tuesday in the new Fraternity Hall building owned by G. G. Walter. The packed opening night featured five reels and Hawaiian melody, with a four hundred seat, up-to-date interior and stages for general shows. Walter contracts Metro, Fox, Triangle and Paramount pictures for regular and special screenings.

Basin to Build Luman Hotel for Sixty Five Thousand
Basin prepares a stock company to erect the Luman Hotel at Fourth and B streets, with a $65,000 budget. John Luman named president, Harry Hime vice president, Thomas Bishop secretary treasurer. Building, designed by architect William Dubois of Cheyenne, will include a bank office, lobby dining room, 27 guest rooms on the second floor, 30 rooms on the third, baths in about 30 rooms, private telephone exchange, grill room, billiard parlor, and modern facilities. Construction to start in about sixty days and finish in four months.

Live Wire Club Honors Walter and Plans Theatre Event
The Live Wire club met Monday night with new members joining weekly and an initiation ceremony in the works. A request was read for members to attend a Thursday evangelistic campaign meeting at the stone school house, and Rev. R. M. Jones was thanked for the invitation. To honor Walter, members voted to attend Rex theatre opening in a body, about one hundred tickets were sold, and home talent will stage the show at Walter’s theatre. A minstrel show plan is forthcoming.
