William Neves Sr a Burlington resident died at his home last Thursday after months of illness He was born in England in 1847 joined the Mormon church and came to Utah in 1861 He moved to Big Horn county in 1894 taking land there He leaves several children most living near Burlington The community offers sympathy and a sister wrote verses in his memory

Delegations Seek Road Aid From County Commissioners

A Greybull delegation visited the county commissioners to request funds for road improvements. Otto residents sought road repairs and bridge maintenance near their locale. Germania sent a group to urge road work between Gheybull and Germania. A school district delegation from Burlington area protested the earlier boundary split and was told the board would keep the district intact with one family reassigned.

Miss Mabel Tallon Visits Worland and Nebraska

Miss Mabel Tallon of Worland stayed in town last weekend as a guest of friends. She is noted as a former Basin Schools teacher and plans to attend her sister Misa Lela Tallon’s nursing graduation in Nebraska on June 23. The sisters will then return home for an extended visit.

The Whitlock brothers from Utah, after days of land surveys in the Basin, were so pleased that they sent for their father. He arrived Wednesday and it is likely they will purchase large tracts in the Otto country and other areas in the Greybull valley.

Mrs J J Perking Recovering After Surgery

Friends report Mrs J J Perking is rapidly recovering from an operation for appendicitis and tumor removal performed last week in Thermopolis. Doctors hope for a quick and permanent return to health.

Builders rearrange lot space for new furniture store

Last Friday J H Welsh moved the Gibson building to the rear of the lot to clear space for a new furniture store. The next day he shifted two Todd buildings west of the Thompson Lumber yards to the Todd land south of the fair grounds. Todd plans to use them for storing bee supplies and other bee industry needs. Ed Cusack, once a Basin country resident and former Lyslie foreman, visited from Wheatland with daughter Mrs W C May, announcing his resignation from the railroad to move back to Greybull and join Felix Alston in a road gang of convicts. He anticipates Wheatland country work most of the time.

Mr and Mrs J. R. McKinnie, well known Basin residents, returned from Utah last Wednesday. They left planning to settle in Utah but after winter away they chose Basin as the place for progressive citizens and will make it their home again.

Mrs F P House Dies Sudden In Basin

Mrs. Fred P House died very suddenly last Wednesday morning after quinsy illness. She had lived in Basin for years with her husband Fred P House, was active in women’s clubs and church work, and they moved her body to Illinois for burial. Funeral services were held at her Basin home with Rev. A M Creath officiating. The community offers deepest sympathy to her husband and sister Mrs Warren Jones.

County agent visits north county for poultry talks

A. H. Tedman recently returned from the county’s northern area after two well attended poultry meetings in Lovell and Cowley using slide illustrations. He plans more meetings in Shell Otto and South Bead and aims to cover every town and outlying schoolhouses. He reports progress on ditching, new laterals, and improved silo projects, plus ongoing stock purchases and manure spreader adoption. The Farmers' Exchange Bulletin, issued by Tedman, has become a valuable channel for farmers and ranchmen, showing extensive exchanging of goods and ideas.

School Board Expands Staffing And Builds Heating Plant
