September 1913 Barton County Commissioners Meeting

Barton County Kansas minutes show September session with approval of bills totaling 4564 98 and salaries 1 inc expenses for county officers and bridge work. The board authorized sidewalk diagonals improvement and a cement sidewalk contract with C W Lawhorn. bond filings for Alois Schwager and Missouri Valley Bridge and Iron Co. approved. Also discussed county roads and care of Willie Huffman and other poor relief, adjourned to October.

Seed crop outlook noted for alfalfa fields near town

They plan to reclaim eighty acres to alfalfa. Charles Hooper Jr returned from Baltimore after medical studies and will stay briefly with family before resuming studies.
