The Rock Grain Co elevator at Pawnee Rock burned Saturday night about 9 40. Geo Gano, owner, entered the engine room but fire had headway. About 1000 bushels of wheat and a car of wheat were at risk. insurance was $7 500 on the building with wheat covered by four companies. Adjusters expected in a few days.

District Court opens as jury sessions proceed

Snowbound Santa Fe Branch Train Near Scott City
A Santa Fe branch train left Great Bend last Thursday, was trapped in a snow cut four miles from Scott City until Sunday night. Several engines failed to move it until one pulled it free. Many railroad workers aided, and the train finally reached Great Bend Monday morning. The item also notes new cars from several local firms including The C. Samuels Co and Dawson & Zutavera.
