The Barton county Democratic meeting is called to convene at the court house in Great Bend Kansas on Saturday March 9 1912 at 2 pm to nominate eight delegates to the state convention at Hutchinson March 14 and select delegates to the National Democratic Convention in Baltimore June 28 1912. The call urges full town representation and lists Fred Tutaven and Will B Stoke as secretaries.
The Kansas school book report shows total annual textbook costs for public schools at 203,407 dollars with supplementary books per pupil at 16 cents. It notes objections to supplementary books and details state adoption of various subjects, with music highlighted as underfunded.
