California harvester trial in Barton County sparks interest

Last week hundreds watched the Best Mfg Co harvester operate near the college in California style field trials. Mr. Thomas lured farmers with a plan to cut and thresh 500 acres to prove the machine’s value, but delays and poor fields delayed full work. The apparatus, nicknamed The Best, impressed with efficient threshing and complete grain recovery, and the mill and bakery benefited from the yield the same day.
