Man Known as Best Arrested After Bank Fraud
A 25 year old man named Best, well dressed and sharp, traveled with an unknown real estate man across several counties. He drew a $730 check and was aided by the broker to deposit $250 cash, but bank officials uncovered he had no account. Police traced Best to Hoisington and Scott City, where he was jailed, while deputies recovered him and returned him to Larned within 24 hours. He offered $250 jewelry to secure release.

Motor Party Rescued After Cadillac Plunges Near Bridge
Mr Milton McGreevy and party escaped a wet ride when their Cadillac slid on a slick road and toppled from a riverbank near Dodson. The fender caught a post, stopping the plunge. all five occupants were unharmed and walked away as the river Blue River runs high. The car was secured and towed away next day.
