In Claflin Kansas Walter Menuit aged 38 died at his home of typhoid fever leaving a widow four sons and two daughters. He was an early settler and proprietor of the City Meat Market. J C Me Dermott died at his home in Claflin of consumption aged 47 years nine months after moving here in 1887. He was an early settler, formerly in the livery business, later on a farm, and a faithful M E church worker leaving a wife and four children.
