A new Great Bend Steam Laundry facility, costing about 5,000, opens opposite the Great Bend Botting Works. Managed by Tutley, with Geo. W. Greene and sons overseeing, the plant promises modern equipment, 12 to 50 workers, and strong local patronage as part of the city’s expanding manufacturing base.
A collection of small town items: Lam Boyer of Seoik City visited Great Bend Monday and Tuesday. Miss Millie Dodge returned from a visit with family near Hays at Albert. Carl O. Nelson came home to Lindsborg after visiting Dr. Canett, Mrs. C. D. Spaugh and children, while Miss Bea Weltmer returned to Trenic Kansas City. D. T. Dennis traveled to Ellinwood to partner with Joe Sprinker for the Grantsale. A birthday gathering for Arthur Meade was held Tuesday afternoon with many friends. The Barton County association's Kagsar and Oklahoma Fair Circuit opens at Anthony next week. A note from Germany states locomotive engineers receive a gold medal and $500 for ten years of accident-free service. An excellent plan to adopt here is suggested.
William Gastineau accidentally shot and killed his brother Walter in Ola frama. The pair, farmhands harvest time, were at A T Futlerton's barn noon, William prostrate and largely speechless since the incident. They were well liked and regarded as devoted brothers as they await their father.
