Wrong Man Arrested in $30 000 Fake Horse Race Swindle

New York report says Thomas W. Bailie w, a Prineton Mo merchant, hunted a band of wiretappers and “fake” poolroom men for over two years after Bailie w lost 30000 to a staged horse race. Bailie w traced the plot from a western stranger who lent him money and promised a sure win, a plan that ended with a staged stumble and a vanished stake. Bailie w then pursued arrests across the country.
