California Tax Rolls Show Major Value Increases Across Counties
The state board of equalization reports total assessed value of non operative property rising to 11.25 billion with Los Angeles and Alameda leading gains. Los Angeles alone shows over 40 percent growth and a non operative value near 2.39 billion, Sacramento up 5.09 million. No ad valorem tax will be needed this year, with general fund revenue around 48.66 million, plus an anticipated 11 million if the King tax suit outcome favors the state. Samuel Fortier receives honorary professorship in irrigation at the University of California, Berkeley, for distinguished service. He will be consulting professor while directing irrigation efforts west of the Missouri.
