Sixty Days For Stealing Gasoline
Frederick H. Curry aged 20 and A M Britt were sentenced by Judge Henderson to sixty dollars or sixty days and thirty dollars or thirty days for gasoline thefts. Mrs. Steve Vihel sighted a thief siphoning gasoline from a Barstow Printer auto, alerted neighbors, and officers soon arrested the pair with a Massachusetts license.

Santa Fe Trainman Dies in Accidental Accident
A Santa Fe brakeman I N Haviland, age sixty, died after an accident at Ludlow when a box car wheel crushed his skull after he slipped from a ladder while a freight left Ludlow yards. A verdict of accidental death was returned by the Barstow inquest. He left a wife and son Isaac, also a Santa Fe brakeman at Needles, who attended the proceedings. Funeral services were held in Los Angeles.
