Congregational Notes Highlight Tally Day Prep and New Members
Congregation notes report Mr and Mrs Dalman joining the church after moving into new company cottages last Sunday. Sunday school starts at 9 30 next coming Sunday due to tally Day. Children will present a program and likely outshine last week's gathering of 68. Mrs Strain hosts loyal class members Tuesday for light refreshments after which the first performance of An Old Sweetheart of Mine was shown at the Auditorium. Barstow Women's Club Opens Season At High School
Barstow Women's Club held its first meeting of the season at the high school. President Mrs F G Dresse reviewed club work. organizer and first president was Mrs BE L Pitcher. The club donated 25 dollars toward furnishing a Monte Vista Home room last year and shows 33 dollars on hand. The federation accepted the club before year end. Miss Mills from the high school faculty played a piano piece in A flat. Refreshments were served by the president. A business meeting is planned for October 20 with all members urged to attend.

Massachusetts Legion on its way to the National convention in San Francisco paused at Barstow for breakfast. The brass band led the visit while the station platform became a morning dance floor. They traveled with accompanying ladies.
