Heinie Wagner, a driller at the Chicago Barstow Oil well, came to town Monday for supplies and said drilling occurs daily. A. F. Leasa recently visited Mohave, reporting slow oil well drilling there.
In Victorville district ranchers note crops in good condition with spring vegetables thriving after recent rains. Ed Dolch plans to arrange milling of ore at Wheeler mill after the 15th. M L Cook arrived to survey local sites and Cottonwood. Local social and business mentions include dances at Victor-one and Guthrie dance details.
Between forty and fifty people enjoyed a May Day picnic in Swarthout's grove with ice cream, refreshments, and various amusements. A second picnic is planned for July Fourth. Wild Siding expects a new station soon as the railroad promises improvements tied to population and business growth.
