Desert Pioneer Jonas B. Osborne Dies at Daggett
Obituary of Jonas B. Osborne born October 10 1831 Attica Genesee County New York who died Monday April 28 1918 at his Daggett home. He built fortunes from mines in Nevada California and Mojave including Eberhard Groom Tecopa and Old Mountain mines and a salt bed venture near Danby. He married Mary Murphy in 1907 and leaves son Julian Bertram Osborne. Burial by White and Platt in Daggett drew many from Barstow and nearby areas.

Mineral Industry in California reports 1912 quicksilver production at 20 600 flasks valued $866 024 down from 1911’s 19 109 flasks at $960 205. The average price per flask fell 5.07, total value down 1.5 percent while quantity rose 7.8 percent.
