Sidewalk construction starts this week in Barstow
Surveyors stake out sites as Carl DeWolf of Barstow wins the contract to lay cement sidewalks and curbing. South Street from First to Third will gain an eighteen inch curb and two foot gutter. Main Street will feature a five foot paved sidewalk on the west side to Hutchison with east curb extending to the hill. Macadamizing Main Street planned soon after. The 1925 outlook predicts substantial new building and a push for sensible restrictions to avoid crowded business blocks.
